Kia ora and thank you for visiting the online home for Wintergreen Creative! A little about me... I am a practitioner and teacher of yoga, theatre and Reiki. I live in ÅŒtautahi Christchurch with my wonderful husband, Dan. We have just returned to the city after two years in ÅŒtepoti Dunedin, where we were both studying towards Master of Fine Arts degrees in Theatre Studies. I work in a freelance capacity across all of my disciplines. I offer treatments and small courses from home, one-off yoga classes at Piko, and I have been teaching at the Court Theatre this year. I love to forage fruit from around the city and grow veggies at home, both to eat fresh and to make jams, preserves and pickles from! I also love long-distance walking having completed the Te Araroa in 2022 and the Camino de Santiago (Norte-Primitivo) this year. More than anything, I love stories. Your story is important to me, you are important to me. Perhaps our stories will weave together somehow, someday!

The Wintergreen Story
I started Wintergreen Creative at the end of 2015. At that time, my husband and I were winding down our beautiful Nelson-based theatre company, Body in Space, so that we could switch to freelancing. I decided to create a container for the creative and healing arts that are my passions - theatre, Reiki and yoga. When I heard the word 'wintergreen' I saw an image of new shoots of growth emerging from snow-covered ground. That image radiated hope, vitality, achievement and promise. It was gentle and vulnerable and yet strong, confident and trusting. Those little shoots emerged from harsh conditions to grow towards the light, into the unknown, guided by something intelligent inside of them. It perfectly captured the qualities I wanted to nurture in myself and seemed to represent a journey of healing and emerging as one's best self that I was keen to support in others. Wintergreen Creative was born! As the artistic director (or dreamer-upper-er!) I sometimes work one-on-one or in group settings with clients, offering Reiki treatments, yoga classes or even teaching Reiki or theatre to others. At other times a group forms and we work together to create something wonderful, it could be an improvised show or a piece of scripted theatre. Wintergreen exists to help you emerge even more fully as yourself, you are exquisite! It would be an honour to be even a small part of your life story, if you are drawn to working with Wintergreen in one way or another. :)
